17 May Irrigation
In 2011, Child Future Africa re-evaluated its priorities and decided to enhance focus on self- sustainability and reliance. This has proven to be a daunting task over the last few years. The main focuses were set out as: enhancing food production capacity, enhancing revenue generation capacity and enhancing management.
The Irrigation project is seen as a way of increasing food production and eventually revenue capacity, through increasing the amount of irrigable hectares on the orpharm
The objectives of the project are to:
- support food security of the orphans living in the orphanage homes;
- increase the yield of the latest 4 ha of farm land by expanding the irrigation system;
- improve conditions for future water supply to the CFA houses;
- Further boost the sustainability of the project as a whole.
This project is still under development.
